Lori Mizro Certified Ballroom Dance Teacher Lori was a dance major at Hofstra University. Ms. Mizro has performed with several professional dance companies in New York City. Lori has recently competed professionally in Japan and placed in several competitions in Kyushu. Pavel Bic Certified Ballroom Dance Teacher Pavel Bic started competing for his country, the Czech Republic, at the age of 6. A the age of 13, Pavel became the Junior Champion. Dedicated to the art of competitive dancing, his hard work paid off and at the age of 17, Pavel became the Youth Champion of the Czech Republic and went on to win the Youth Championship two years in a row. Pavel has represented his country at the World Championship, European Championship, Central European Championship, World Cup and European Cup multiple times. In 2007, Pavel became the Vice Champion of the Czech Republic. Altogether, Pavel has also represented his country 6 times at the Standard World Championships. Pavel has been a continuous finalist and champion in the Czech Republic and is well respected as an instructor and lecturer in the art of Competitive Ballroom Dance as well as Dance Movement Therapy.
Adam Katona Certified Ballroom Dance Teacher Adam Katona started ballroom dancing at the age of 9. By the time he was 14, Adam had won the Hungarian Country Championships in the Latin American Dances. In 2008, Adam represented Hungary in the World Youth Championships and the European Youth Championships. In 2011, Adam made New York his new home. He is excited to be a part of the Arthur Murray team and he specializes in all Latin and Rhythm dances.
Leslie LaGuardia Certified Ballroom Dance Teacher Leslie, a well known motivational speaker and public relations expert, joined the Arthur Murray NYC team after owning her own Arthur Murray franchise in Saratoga Springs for more than 25 years. Ms. LaGuardia began as a student of Arthur Murray Dance Centers before working as a dancer on Dick Clark’s American Band Stand for several years. She is now managing the Williston Park Studio as well as the Saratoga Springs Studio. Ms. LaGuardia is also an official on the Board for the National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame.
Safwat Gerges Certified Master Examiner/Adjudicator Mr. Safwat Gerges started with the Arthur Murray Dance Studios in Training Class over 25 years ago and two (2) years later, became Manager & Owner of the Arthur Murray Franchised Dance Studio in Great Neck, NY. Over the years, Mr. Gerges competed in many Arthur Murray Dance Competitions and has been decorated with several Arthur Murray “Top Instructor” & “Top Executive” Awards. Mr. Gerges is now recognized as a Master Examiner and Adjudicator, certified through the World Professional Dance Teachers Association and accredited with the National Dance Council of America. You may observe Mr. Gerges judging many student and professional competitions and he is also the organizer of several popular show-dance and competitive events each year. Mr. Gerges is General Manager and Franchisee to five Studios in New York & Long Island as well as two Studios oversees. Currently, Mr. Gerges is the Co-organizer of the Empire State Dance Sport Championships.
